As a Registered Psychologist since 2001 with a Ph.D from the University of Alberta, I help adults and couples overcome personal, mental health and relationship challenges with compassion and cultural sensitivity.
Approaching clients with empathy, I listen to understand your unique experiences and struggles, as well as the changes you hope for as a result of seeking help. I work with you to create a customized counselling or treatment plan to help you achieve your goals for change and live a happier, healthier life. The interventions and therapies I draw on are well researched and have been clinically proven to be effective.
I provide individual and couples counselling and therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental helping relationship. Armed with 10 years of clinical training across hospitals, mental health clinics, rehabilitation centres, and community counselling centres, I offer therapy for a wide range of mental health concerns and life difficulties. This includes stress, coping skills, emotion regulation, depression, anxiety, trauma, pain management, relationship/marriage difficulties, and cultural issues.
I welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities. I aim to provide a therapy experience that is respectful of your background and identity, incorporates your personal, cultural or spiritual worldview, and aligns with your values.

Is the Cost of Counselling Covered?
The services of a Registered Psychologist are covered by many, but not all, health insurance and employee benefit plans. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, many insurance and benefit providers are also covering virtual sessions with a psychologist, and are likely to continue to cover virtual services in the future.
You can submit receipts to your insurance or benefit plan for full or partial reimbursement if you have coverage for psychologist visits, counselling or mental health therapy. Check with your insurer or benefit plan provider about your coverage rate and whether virtual sessions are covered before booking your first appointment. Fees for sessions with a psychologist may also be claimed from employee health spending accounts.
Did you know that the Canada Revenue Agency considers individual counselling and therapy sessions with a Registered Psychologist as tax-deductible medical expenses? This is because Psychologists are regulated health care professionals. Be sure to keep your receipts for any out-of-pocket expenses for your session fees, so you can benefit from this credit at tax time.
How Do I Book an Appointment?
I offer new clients a free 15 minute phone consultation. This gives you an opportunity to speak to me and ask me any questions you have before proceeding to book a counselling appointment. The consultation also gives me a chance to learn about your unique needs. I can schedule an appointment for you at the end of our call.
* Registered Psychologists in Alberta are licensed to provide in-person or virtual counselling services for people residing in the Province of Alberta. They cannot provide consultations, counselling or therapy for individuals or couples living in other parts of Canada or overseas.
